Several years ago, I bought my new car- way back in 2006. Buying a vehicle was super stressful- way too many choices! One of my biggest concerns was having plenty of drink holders and compartments to put things. This requirement led my friend Katherine to point out I was really just looking for a "large purse". Very true.
But even more importantly, I wanted seat warmers. If you know me, you know I am ALWAYS cold. Always. And seat warmers seem like the worlds greatest invention to me! So I found a good car with an adequate amount of compartments and drink holders but, more importantly, seat warmers. And I've enjoyed the heck out of those things- from approximately september till may.
So tonight, Em and I drove up to Starkville to see MSU and Arkansas play basketball. Now, before I left, I walked Parker outside wearing short sleeves. But somewhere on 45, the snow started coming and didn't stop. Its still snowing. And we turned on Ems seat warmer (mine was already on, natch).
As I hope you can see from the picture, you can flip this little button up or down and the light comes on to show its working. So tonight, Em asks me what the difference is between going up or down and I tell her there isn't any difference.
Then I look more closely at the button and see a small line across the bottom and a larger line across the top and it dawns on me- there IS a difference- its high/low! All these years of using these seat warmers and I never noticed!! Never! Naturally I turn it on high and I felt the difference immediately!! I am so excited now! Also I'm a bit embarassed I didn't realize this till today!!

Wow. This video is amazing! It makes me super happy and I've literally cried from laughing at it. Its my goal one day, to be as cool as this lady. I'm far from it now, but I'm working on it.
I especially like the music playing in the background. You know, I love Wonder Woman. I love Lynda Carter. I think she is super pretty and super classy. Once, in law school, I was shopping in Zoe, my favorite makeup store, and I PROMISE that Lynda Carter was there. She was wearing a big, long, cozy sweater and jeans with cowboy boots and she was super pretty and had a wonderful presence about her. I was with someone-- I believe it was either my friend Katherine or my sister Betsy, but whoever it was, didn't believe that was Lynda Carter. I'm pretty sure it was Betsy. Anyway, no one believed me and its one of the few celebrity sightings I've ever had, but I believe myself so I don't care if you believe me. Plus, I did some internet research and found out that she had a daughter who attended Ole Miss, so its fairly conceivable.
Every so often, I read on-line that someone is throwing around the idea of a Wonder Woman movie or tv show or something. I think its a great idea, IF the right actress is selected.
Some of the actresses who have been discussed:
Catherine Zeta Jones -- This might have once been a good idea, but not so much anymore. I loved Catherine for a long time, and thought she was (and is) really beautiful, but there is something kinda boring about her now. She's married to an old guy and hasn't had a great movie in a really long time. So, this is no longer a good choice.
Charisma Carpenter -- I LOVE Angel so much and I LOVE Cordelia on Angel. So, I think this was a great choice. However, since Angel, Charisma Carpenter hasn't really been on very much and I don't even know what she's doing anymore, so this isn't a great choice now, especially since she's probably too old for what they are looking for now.
Rachel Bilson-- she is SO boring. I was bored just looking for pictures of her.
Jessica Biel-- I dislike her a lot. She's way to TRY for me-- she's always trying to get movie parts that are clearly out of her league, talent-wise. She's a clinger with Justin Timberlake and all she seems to do is workout and walk her dogs. Boring. And she has terrible style. This was the only picture I could find of her that was half-way decent where she was fully clothes. There seem to be a lot of lingerie photos of her. Yes, because all Oscar-caliber actresses run around half-naked because of their "talent". Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel.
Lucy Lawless-- LOVE this idea, and I even love it despite the fact that she is clearly no longer the age that producers would want-- she's just so tough! I loved Zena and I LOVED Lucy on Battlestar Galactica. I'm a geek-- whatever, you are reading my blog, so what does that say about you!? I think this is a great idea!
Sandra Bullock-- similar to Catherine Zeta-Jones and Lucy Lawless, she is probably well out of the age range they are now considering. I LOVE Sandra and my love only grows for her as she gets older, but I'm not sure she would have been a great Wonder Woman. At first glance, maybe, but when you think about it, it wouldn't work-- Sandra is goofy, funny, likeable, down-to-earth. Wonder Woman isn't kooky and beating up super villans while tripping over her desk chair. Not a good fit.
Beyonce-- I'm probably awful for saying this, but um, no. I'm a purist. WW needs to have dark hair and, preferably, needs to be able to act.
Notwithstanding my above remark about being a purist and needing dark hair, I'm throwing a couple ideas into the ring (both of which are so beautiful, they'd be great with dark hair!)
Adrianne Palicki--- Tyra from Friday Night Lights-- she so great-- I love her and I love that show!
My best pick, however would be Katee Sackhoff-- Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica-- she also was on 24 last year and is going to be on one of the CSI's soon. I ADORE her. I want to be her. I think she's so pretty and so funny and so tough. She'd absolutely go beat the crap out of a bunch of robbers on the street, even when she's 70.

I'm sorry. I've not had internet at home this weekend and it seems like my blogging via the phone isn't all that great-- its not easy to type, so I usually do short blogs. Last night I considered doing a short blog but then realized that's no fun and not that interesting, so I figured I'd make it up to my dear readers with an especially long blog today instead.
This weekend was a fun one-- we hosted a wedding shower for my friend Mallory, who recently eloped with her new husband, Brandon. The shower was at my Aunt Ju's house, and we all had a great time and Mal got lots of good gifts!!

Of course, this weekend wasn't nearly as fun as last weekend! Last weekend, mom, Em and Aunt Ju and I went to Franklin, TN (outside Nashville) to visit Betsy! We had the best time!

Betsy, Peter, Em and our friend Daniel and I out Saturday night-- we did lots of pool playing! Daniel and Peter are REALLY good at playing pool but they are also REALLY nice and played with us losers! Daniel and I played one great game where I hit the 8 ball in to win the game-- it was like my own version of the SuperBowl!
Sunday morning before we left, the girls hit Sperry's for brunch-- where Betsy works! Sperry's is super cool and has a neat English vibe-- the food was the best I had all weekend! Prince William has even eaten there!!

Last night, I was so very tired, and I totally forgot to post! I'm surprised its taken this long. The last week I've only had internet on my phone, so my blogs have been kinda boring (I've had a few complaints!).
In my defense, I've been doing a lot of traveling these past couple weeks.
First, I headed up to Nashville with my mom, Em, and Aunt Ju to visit Betsy and celebrate Aunt Ju's 50th Birthday! I took lots of pictures on my camera, but I've lost my camera cord that connects to the computer. Remember how a couple weeks ago, I'd lost my camera battery charger? Well, I found it, and then, in its place, lost the camera cord. So, till I find that, I can take pictures but not download them. As opposed to a few weeks ago when I couldn't take pictures but could download them if the camera would turn on (which it wouldn't). Thus, I've co-opted a few of Em's pictures from facebook and am using them.
Aunt Ju blowing out her candles at BB's in Franklin-- we had dinner with Betsy and her cool boyfriend Peter-- it was a fun night!!
Saturday we did some major shopping downtown-- Em and I found this pretty cool bookstore with mostly used and old books. I could live in a bookstore like that one! I especially enjoying slowly perusing the upstairs main room while listening to two hipsters discussing their favorite poetry and also how different directors can make certain movies "their own". For example, Tim Burton's "aesthetic" is really movies like Alice in Wonderland and Sleepy Hollow- he just "makes" those kind of movies come from within him "organically". It was hilariously pretentious.

After I got back from Nashville, my driving tour of the South wasn't quite complete. After court in Jones County Monday, I headed to Decatur, where I then headed to Coahoma County-- Clarksdale. I took a couple rather interesting detours on the way (I got lost) but I finally made it there. I'll be explaining my trip to Clarksdale another time (for those who don't already know-- its not something I'm wanting to talk about a whole lot right now).

Tuesday I left Clarksdale and headed, in the pouring rain, to Hernando. I actually drove past this guy in the picture:
From there, I decided to avoid the pouring rain as much as possible and drove over to my happy place, Oxford. I got to see Nicholas and his roommate Dillon for a few minutes. They were headed to the Ole Miss-KY basketball game, which I decided not to go to, and then regretted that decision when Ole Miss won! However, I decided to forego the basketball game and crash with my friend Courtney in Tupelo. We ate at one of my favorite places-- Vanellis. Unfortunately I was unable to find any pictures of Vanellis, but its so good-- you should all go there when you vacay in Tupelo, ok? Trust me. We had a good time and at one point, a random scraggly man with long gray hair came up to us, spoke to us, asked us if we were enjoying the meal, and shook Courtney's hand. Then, he turned to me and shook my hand and then PINCHED MY CHEEK and walked away. Like I was a cute five-year old (which I really did used to be). It was hilarious. And apparently, that was the owner. Mr. Vanelli or something himself. I nearly died. From now on, that's how I'm going to greet people. By pinching their cheek. Watch out.
From Tupelo, I headed back to Laurel Wednesday morning for a LJA lunch meeting about Gala and church. That night, it was back to Newton so I could be closer to Chancery Court in Neshoba County (Philadelphia, casino, not cheesesteak) Thursday morning. Yesterday, I had an appointment in Bay Springs that got cancelled thanks to the ice, but not before I had already driven down there, so I went on to Laurel to get some work done there. Now, I'm back in Decatur working and dreaming of my nice warm bed with my sweet Parker. I plan on doing no driving all weekend. So don't call me and ask me to drive anywhere-- not even to Vics for a biscuit. Instead, you bring it to me!
I've logged more than 22 hours in the car since Thursday and I have at least a couple more to go before this week is over. I'm tired. I'm happy to be back in my bed in Newton with Parker- I've not seen her much lately and I miss her! Good night, dear readers!!

Today has been a super long day of traveling around the MS Delta in the pouring rain (isn't that a line in a song?!). I decided to break my day up by heading to Tupelo to eat dinner and crash with my friend Courtney. Spur of the moment! Isn't she lucky! We've had a great time!
Courtney decided to do some closet cleaning and guess who was the happy recipient? The above picture is of the five piles of clothes we pulled from her closet. Plus there was a small pile she had already put into my room! Its like a massive shopping spree!!

I'm in Clarksdale tonight and I stopped downtown for dinner at the Stone Pony. Guess what was on the menu? Sausage and cheese plate! A rather large one at that. Of course I had to get it for dinner- reminds me of Oxford! For some reason, sausage and cheese plates are all the rage in this area- Memphis, Como, Oxford, but south of Grenada, they are hard to find!
